Acceptable Use Policy
What you can do with the question bank, and what you cannot
Study with it as much as you want. The limits are about copying it and reselling it, not about how hard you use it.
Effective August 13, 2026. Replaces the version dated January 28, 2023.
The short version. One subscription is one person. Study without limits: there is no daily cap, no question quota, and nobody is going to email you about doing 400 questions in a day. What is prohibited is taking the bank out of the product, sharing your access, or using the material to build something that competes with it.
1. Study freely
Within your own studying, use the product as hard as you like. Reset your history, redo sections, run the same simulation ten times, print your own notes from an explanation you wrote, keep your progress file forever. None of that is a violation, and none of it triggers anything. Heavy use is the intended use.
2. One subscription, one person
Your access is personal. Do not share your login, your access link, or your account with anyone else, including a study group, a coworker, or a firm. Do not resell or transfer access. Where an account is obviously in use by several people, we may suspend it; the login records our host keeps are described in the privacy policy. If your firm wants access for several people, write to us and we will price it.
3. Do not extract the bank
The questions, explanations, simulations, and the tell index are original work, and they are the product. So:
- No scraping, crawling, bulk downloading, or automated access of any kind.
- No scripting the app, intercepting its network calls, or pulling the question files directly.
- No copying questions or explanations into another product, a shared document, a study group library, a forum post, or a social media thread. Quoting a question to ask us about it is fine. Publishing a hundred of them is not.
- No using our content as training data, fine-tuning data, or a benchmark for a model, and no using it to generate a competing question bank.
- No circumventing the paywall, the email gate, or any access control, and no sharing methods for doing so.
The free sample exists so you can evaluate quality without paying, and the published sample questions, simulations and the ledger of every correction are deliberately open. Take those. They are the parts we gave away on purpose.
4. The assistant
The AI assistant is for studying the CPA exam. Do not put client-confidential information, personal financial data about other people, or anything covered by a professional confidentiality obligation into it, because your messages go to a third-party model provider to produce the reply. Do not use it to generate spam, harassment, malware, or content unrelated to exam study, and do not try to extract the underlying prompts or bank content through it.
5. Do not attack the site
No probing, scanning, or attempting to breach the site or its systems. No interfering with other users' access, no denial of service, no uploading malicious code. If you find a security flaw, tell us at finance@chatcpa.io before you tell anyone else, give us reasonable time to fix it, and we will thank you publicly if you want the credit.
6. Do not impersonate or defraud
No impersonating ChatCPA, its owner, or another user. No claiming affiliation or endorsement you do not have. No fraudulent purchases, chargeback abuse, or stacking discount codes beyond their stated terms.
Exam integrity. Our questions are original practice questions, not real examination questions, and we do not want real ones. Do not send us examination content you saw at Prometric, and do not ask the assistant to reconstruct it. Disclosing exam content violates the confidentiality agreement you sign to sit for it, and it can cost you the credential you are studying for. This is the one rule here where the consequence for you is worse than anything we would do.
7. What happens if you break these rules
Proportionate to what happened. Most cases get an email first, because most cases are a person sharing a login with a friend rather than an operation. Serious or repeated violations lead to suspension or termination of access. Extraction of the bank for commercial use will be pursued as the copyright infringement it is. If we terminate your access for something you did not do, we will refund the unused part of your subscription, which is set out in the terms and conditions.
8. Contact
Questions about what is allowed, requests for firm access, or a report of abuse: finance@chatcpa.io. CHATCPA LLC, Oregon. What we collect is in the privacy policy; what the material is and is not is in the disclaimer.
If a rule here seems to block something reasonable you want to do with material you paid for, ask. The intent is to stop the bank being copied and resold, not to police how you study. Nicholas Miller, CPA · Oregon license #14907.
