Cookie Policy

Cookies, and the thing people mistake for cookies

A short policy, because the site uses few cookies and none of them are how the test bank works.

Effective August 17, 2026. Replaces the version dated August 13, 2026.

The short version. Necessary cookies run the site and the store. Analytics and advertising cookies are optional, and the banner records your choice. Two advertising tags load with the page regardless of that choice, and section 2 names them and tells you how to stop them. Declining costs you nothing: the test bank does not use cookies at all, so nothing you study is affected.

That is the list. It is an ordinary set of analytics and advertising tools, not an unusually restrained one, and I would rather name them than imply otherwise. What I will not do is sell your data, or your study history, to anyone.

Your study data is not in a cookie. Scores, answers, seen questions, teach-back writing, mastery, and your study plan are written to your browser's local storage on your own device. Local storage is not a cookie: it is not sent to us with page requests, it is not readable by advertisers, and it never leaves your machine unless you press the button that emails your progress to yourself. Blocking every cookie on this site does not touch it. Clearing your browsing data does delete it, which is the one thing worth knowing before you clear.

2. Turning them off

The cookie banner records your choice, and the cookies Squarespace sets follow it. Some tags do not: the LinkedIn Insight tag, Google Tag Manager and the Clarity recorder are loaded by the page itself and run whatever you select in the banner. I would rather say that than let the banner imply otherwise. To stop them, block cookies for this site in your browser's privacy settings or use an extension that blocks advertising and analytics tags, both of which work regardless of anything I do. If you decline everything, the store and login still work, because those run on necessary cookies. Advertising platforms also offer their own opt-outs, at Google Ads settings and in your LinkedIn advertising preferences.

3. Do Not Track and global opt-out signals

We honor the Global Privacy Control signal where your browser sends one, and we treat it as a request to decline the optional categories. Browsers send Do Not Track headers inconsistently and no industry standard defines a response to them, so we do not claim to act on that one.

4. Changes

If we add a cookie or an advertising tag, this table changes and the effective date at the top changes with it.
